Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulation 2006 (WEEE)
Under the terms of the above agreement Fitness Warehouse Limited as a distributor of goods that fall under the above regulation must offer to our customers the facility to dispose of their unwanted WEEE relative to the above directive.
Under Article 2 of the Directive each EU member state is required to minimise the disposal of WEEE as unsorted municipal waste and to achieve a high level of collection of WEEE for treatment, recovery and environmentally sound disposal.
From July 2007 these regulations came into force to encourage people to arrange for their waste electrical equipment to be recycled rather than throwing them away.
In an attempt to minimise the harmful effects of dumping waste electrical products in landfill sites we have subscribed to be members of The Distributor Take Back Scheme with Valpak WEEE Retail Services and promote www.recycle-more.co.uk
